How do I prepare for an iron infusion?

No special preparation is required. You may want to eat a light meal and drink plenty of water before the infusion. Also please make sure to tell us about any medications or allergies.

How long does an iron infusion take?

At PIM, iron infusion typically takes 15 – 20 minutes. However, for your own safety we will monitor you for a period after the infusion. It’s best to allow 45 minutes to one hour for your appointment.

If you are like most of our patients, you can return to your normal activities as soon as you leave our clinic. If you feel tired or lightheaded, we recommend you rest and take things easy for a day or two.
