The frequency of your sessions will depend on the ailment or condition we’re targeting with the infusions and how your body responds to each session. For those who are having nutrient infusions to treat a particular condition, such as a nutrient deficiency or chronic illness, or for post-viral recovery, we typically recommend weekly treatment until your symptoms have stabilised. After this, you may benefit from regular but less frequent maintenance sessions, for example, once a month.

Generally, yes. The process of wound healing and tissue repair is nutrient-dependent, in particular, zinc and vitamin C. Surgery may deplete your levels of certain nutrients, such as those metabolised in response to anaesthetic. This can have lingering effects in some patients, who may benefit from nutritional liver and metabolic support.

Yes, we offer iron infusions at our injectable nutrient clinic. Please bring or email your referral and a copy of your relevant medical history and blood test results so that we can ensure iron infusions are appropriate and safe for you. After a review, if you are happy to proceed with the treatment we can organise it for you straight away. The infusion takes 15-20 minutes under the supervision of our experienced registered nurses, who will ensure you remain comfortable during your session, followed by a 30 minute period of observation for safety. After your treatment, we will send a report back to your referring practitioner as a courtesy and to let them know how you went. Find out more about our iron infusion service here.

The risks of IV nutrient therapy are greater if conducted by poorly trained individuals. All the sessions at our Adelaide nutrient infusion clinic are run by highly qualified, experienced clinicians who put your safety first. This minimises the risks of the treatment. Minor side effects may be experienced by some patients, such as pain, bruising, or swelling at the injection site, and thirst. Iron infusions come with a risk of staining under the skin, and there is a low risk of infection occurring at the injection site with any infusion procedure.

The cost of nutrient infusions varies from clinic to clinic and also depends on the complexity of your nutrient formulation. The cost of your IV nutrient therapy will be determined at the time of your initial consultation, where we assess your health needs and which vitamins and minerals will be most helpful for you. At Professional Integrative Medicine, we ensure our fees remain competitive to make sure more people can access the benefits of IV nutrient therapy.

There is nothing essential that you need to bring, however, many of our patients like to bring a book, watch a show on their device, or listen to music to help pass the time during their infusions. You may also want to bring a snack and wear loose clothing to make yourself more comfortable while you lie back in our reclining chairs. Prior to your session, please ensure you hydrate well as this helps with inserting the IV line and improves nutrient absorption.

Prior to your session, your medical information will be reviewed by our experienced staff, and our medical doctor will review your plan for injectable nutrient therapy. This process allows us to determine which nutrients and minerals will be the most beneficial at alleviating your health problems.
Our infusion clinic is a warm and welcoming space, designed to keep you comfortable and well-supported during your treatment. One of our nurses will insert your IV line for you and get your infusion started while you sit back, relax, and meet other like-minded patients who may be sharing the same session with you. You should allow up to 2 hours for your session.

Unlike some cosmetic and lifestyle clinics that promote “nutrient cocktails or shots”, our IV nutrient therapy is tailored to provide evidence-based treatments for real medical conditions and ailments. We uphold high medical standards, adhere to strict safety protocols, and are compliant with the guidelines set by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This means we don’t accept sponsorship from suppliers, promote any misleading advertising material, or display patient testimonials as per AHPRA’s advertising guidelines. We also perform a professional assessment of your medical history and current health status to ensure nutrient infusions are safe and appropriate for your situation. We put our patients’ health before profits.

We only administer iron infusions when a clinical consultation has confirmed that this is a good treatment option for you. We take your medical history and we may conduct tests. We may propose alternative options such as supplements if we feel they are more appropriate for you, or we may recommend an iron infusion.
