Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) is by its nature a chronic, long term condition, with symptoms lasting at least six months. It is not always related to a viral infection.
Post-viral fatigue syndrome occurs after a known viral infection, and may resolve in less than six months.
