Appointments

Patients are seen by appointment only. As integrative medicine requires longer than usual medical consultations, it is advised that follow up appointments are made well in advance.

We recommend that you have a general practitioner who can provide you with acute care or manage any general medical problems.

Dr Hall is not able to provide patients with urgent appointments due to the high demand for his services. We do keep a waiting list of people needing urgent appointments and if we receive a cancellation, we fill the vacancy from this waiting list accordingly.

What to bring to your first appointment

If you are able, it is useful to bring the following to your first consultation:

1.    A brief outline of your medical history.

2.    The results of any investigations or specialist consultations relevant to your current health problem or any current blood tests.

3.    A list of any medications and nutritional supplements you are taking. We recommend bringing the bottles with you so we can check the actual doses of the various nutrients present in your supplements, as these vary widely and it is impossible to keep track of all the different formulations available.

4.    Dr Hall is more than happy for patients to be accompanied by their partners, care-givers or friends when they attend their appointment.

Cancellation Policy

We provide an SMS reminder service for all appointments, which is sent 1-2 business days prior to your appointment. This service is a courtesy and it is the patient’s responsibility to attend their appointment on time.

24 hours advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment.

If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount for your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon the degree of lateness, Dr Hall will determine if there is enough time remaining to start your appointment. Regardless of the length of the appointment actually given, you will be charged the full amount.

Test Results

Patients are advised of all test results and treatment plans in a consultation. It is the responsibility of the patient to book a follow up appointment to discuss results unless Dr Hall has specifically advised you otherwise.

Due to the personal and detailed nature of results, they will not be advised over the phone, unless it is part of a telephone consultation, or Dr Hall has advised you otherwise.

Prescriptions

Requests for repeat prescriptions outside of consultations will attract a fee of $30.

It may not be possible to provide repeat prescriptions during times of staff annual leave and other absences.

It is the responsibility of patients to ensure that any required prescriptions or documentation are discussed with Dr Hall during consultations.

Contacting the Doctor

If you need to contact Dr Hall to clarify an important issue that cannot wait until your next appointment, please either email the clinic at admin@pimedicine.com.au or call reception on 8379 1124. Please refer to the email correspondence section below regarding possible fees.

Depending on the medical priority of your issue, you should expect to hear back from Dr Hall in 24-48 hours.

Any email correspondence is treated in accordance with our privacy policy and explicit consent must be given by patients for electronic communication due to the confidential nature of the content.

Email Correspondence – Letters – Telephone Advice

Requests for letters, email correspondence, phone advice, pathology requests and forms to be completed outside of scheduled consultation times will attract a fee.

Actioning of such requests is at the sole discretion of Dr Hall.

The fee will depend upon the complexity of the research and work required to respond.

Dr Hall does not write legal reports.

Transfer of Medical Notes and Records

To ensure appropriate ongoing care, when a patient requires the transfer of medical notes/records to another health professional, doctors are entitled to recover from the patient the reasonable cost of providing this information.

While records containing patient medical information do not belong to the patient, the patient has a legal right to access those records.

The fee for the transfer of medical notes may vary. Patients will be informed of the cost before they are transferred and payment is required in advance.
